ATM I'm actually on FLICKR. I'm writing my post on another platform and it will then appear on BLOGGER. Although I am part of Generation Y, and I'm not supposed to be impressed by the marvels of technology, I can't help but be so. I mean, not only is this WEB 2.0 useful, it is interconnected, meaning that in real time I am in (at least) two places at once! Hopefully it works LOL
And what do you know? It did work! How awesome is that? Not only does it say it will do something, it actually does it!
What I also found interesting (and exciting) about this module is that our abilities to cut & paste so to speak when it comes to images on the WEB and such is a lot more cut & dry than I initially thought. However what does concern me is that the photo above, of my beautiful daughter Felicity, and others, is open to everyone on FLICKR? I suppose it goes back to the argument of FACEBOOK and privacy, if you don't want anyone to see it, then don't post it!
On the otherhand, what I found especially relevant was the section on 'Artistic Works' and their definition of that term @ http://www.smartcopying.edu.au/scw/Jahia/lang/en/scw/go/pid/330 ...
Artistic Works include paintings, sculptures, graphics, cartoons, etchings, lithographs, photography, drawings, plans, maps, diagrams, charts, buildings, models of buildings, moulds and casts for sculptures ...
Why is this so interesting? It means that, if you take into account the fact that I created the photo above, and the definition lists photography as an artistic work, then I - contrary to the belief of my Junior Arts teachers - am finally an ARTIST! LOL Here's to WEB 2.0 and FLICKR, although one needs to be careful in terms of WHO we post, you can't help but be thankful for WHAT it can achieve!
